Awkward/smart Gwen only comes in spurts, much like Morgana having a point other than being evil/mad does. :( Most times the focus is too much on Queen Gwen that I can't see the girl she was before. Here was a great balance showing how far she's come, how she IS, and how she will continue to grow.
You hate Gwen? :((( I love Gwen so much but I can't stand her with Arthur. IMO he doesn't treat her very well, showing how little the writers care about her feelings. I wanted to smack Arthur last ep for breaking her heart and then coming back like two hours later all J/K! and she was supposed to just accept it and be as in love as ever. It's fine when Arthur's messing with Merlin, but the writers don't let Gwen have the personality to hit right back when Arthur's a prat. Like they deleted Arthur/Morgana and Gwen/Morgana's relationships, they just delete who Arthur and Gwen ARE to shove them together in a cookie cut script. Another reason I stopped watching mid S2, and watched none of S3 when I could just recap via my friend list, I felt like Gwen was replaced by a pod person. Ugh.

If they actually took time to develop both Gwen's personality and her relationship with Arthur, I wouldn't have minded this much (even if I'm a hardcore Arthur/Merlin fan), but really, how can they just take what is supposed to be the main canon pairing and screw it up this much?
