The Matthew Shepard Act was FINALLY passed last month, but that doesn't mean the job's done. Even though there is increased acceptance of gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual people, gay & lesbian hate crimes continue to rise. And it's not the only ones. Remember that targeting individuals or groups based on race, gender, culture, nation, social class, religion, or political affiliation -- all of those are still happening. It happens every day, big and small ways, so be ready for it all, every day. I'm really tired (almost 4am my time) so that's probably why this is so horribly written. All I know is I'm a Roman Catholic figuring out her sexuality, and I'm frustrated that anyone can think they know whether God loves or damns a person based on the physical body they give their love to. Sorry. :(
