I am so ashamed of my follow countrymen sometimes. So many people in the U.S. are just self-centered enough to believe that someone who uses a synthesized voice with a North-American accent has to be from here. Jeeze.

This whole Nazi and death panel thing is really getting on my last nerve. I have been a proponent of a system on the model of Britain and parts of Europe since I was in college and first heard how healthcare was handled in places like the Netherlands, Sweden and Britain.

Of course, I was one of the unfortunate people who knew what it was to turned down for insurance in the U.S. at a very young age. My parents were trying to get insurance of some sort for the family when I was about 16 or 17. When the sales agent heard that I had glaucoma he freaked out. He said he knew almost nothing about the condition but that it was serious and pre-existing so I could not be insured because I was high-risk. I was hurt and angry.

Personally, even though I have insurance now, I wish they'd throw out the whole U.S. insurance system and start from scratch with type of insurance you all have.

Just my two-cents worth.

Gald to see you back on lj.
