ScotMoot 2007 - Scouting Quest

May 04, 2007 17:24

Our recent foray across the border, in Bob the trusty campervan, to accost the gentlemen in skirts indigenous population and seek out new frontiers and boldly go splitting infinitives etc, has proved to be moderately magnificently successful!

This is only a preliminary report, since most of the indepth research was carried out by my esteemed colleague knittedmerry, ably assisted by the estimable knittedpippin, and their results should be posted in KM's journal as soon as he recovers from a nasty bout of KnittedFlu!

I shall leave the eloquent outpourings to he, who is far more adequately versed than I in such matters. Nevertheless, here are a couple of snaps to give you a taster of things to come and sights to be seen.

Although the setting might seem a little lonely...

We managed to find a place to have dinner! This will be our venue to celebrate "The Birthdays"! It is on the Royal Mile, a stone's throw from Edinburgh Castle.

And even the "scenery" in here seemed quite agreeable!

Back to work - sigh! Leaving Edinburgh, this is a random view from the road to Carbisdale Castle.

KM and KP, ever diligent, made it their business to check out every aspect of the Castle, starting with breakfast. (Swiftly followed by 2nd breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, tea, dinner and supper.)
