The longed-for snow had arrived just as Will had begun to truly despair for a white December, which means their cottage is now not only decked out in winter greenery, their tree nestled in a corner and fully decorated, but the cottage itself is its own holiday decoration, with its snow-covered roof and icicles hanging at the windows

The mattress shifts as Bran sinks onto the edge of it, resting a hand on Will's elbow and regarding him in fond amusement. "You look as if you ought to be purring, cariad."

Will smiles without looking up from his book, leaning toward Bran a bit. "Not yet. The kettle isn't ready," he murmurs, the smile widening.

[branbach]

"Ah," Bran says, leaning over to press a kiss to Will's hair. "That should only be a moment or two, I think. I'll make a pot if you like."

[llewych_will]

That does get Will to look up, so he can smile at Bran directly. "Would you? That'd be lovely."

[branbach]

Bran laughs, and ruffles Will's hair playfully. "Yes, of course I will. I would not want to pull you away from the book, not when you look so perfectly content there reading it."

[llewych_will]

"You should get a book and join me," Will suggests. "Or I could read this one to you."

[branbach]

"I think," Bran says, "I like that idea better. What book is it?"

[llewych_will]

Will holds up the book, keeping his place with a finger. "Fellowship of the Ring. Shall I start over, or just start reading at the bit I'm on? I'm not terribly far into it."

[branbach]

"Ooh. I think you're safe just starting wherever you are," Bran says, "as I've read it several times. I'll just make the tea first?"

[llewych_will]

"Yes, that's what I thought." Will grins and lowers his eyes to the page again. "Sounds good, thank you." And he'll just read to himself a bit more until the tea's ready.

[branbach]

Bran disappears for a moment into the kitchen, just long enough to abandon his shoes and make a pot of tea. He re-emerges a few moments later, setting the tray down on the bedside table. "Mission accomplished."

"Mmm, I'm so lucky," Will sighs happily, looking up again and setting the book aside to help Bran fix the tea.

[branbach]

Bran flashes him a quick, smug grin. "You are, I think. Here." He passes Will a cup, settling down next to him. "Catch me up, what part are we on?"

[llewych_will]

"Course you do," Will says dryly, grinning back. "I've just finished Weathertop." He sips his tea, balancing the book on his legs so he can drink and read at the same time.

[branbach]

Bran wraps himself around Will, resting his chin on his shoulder, his tea in easy reach.

Will takes a moment to nestle comfortably against Bran, getting settled before he begins to read in a clear, strong voice.
