Wow. As beautiful and lyrical and atmospheric as all your work. This is just delightful. And it makes me think--as your stuff always does. That last paragraph is especially brilliantly done--the world coming back. Wow.
Superb piece, Llassah. What a beautiful gift for Nos!
This is gorgeous! It really felt soft, sleep-dazed, urgent. I especially liked Fraser's kneeling in front of him, hand cupping his face, thumb stroking his skin. He kisses his eyebrow, the side of his neck, the base of his throat. Weird places. Fraser places.
Oh, L! This was GORGEOUS. Your use of language was really fresh and creative, and I loved the understated grace with which this whole story unfolded. It all seems sort of inevitable, and the seal on the future of their relationship (that "good morning") had a lovely resonance with the beginning of the story. Wonderful structure, here, as well as a softness and a lyricism that I always associate with your writing.
Thank you so much for the lovely birthday story. I enjoyed it very much. *hugs you tight*
Oh, this is lovely! The ritual of tea, their movements slow, measured by weariness and familiarity, that accent point of Ray's lust, and then relaxing agains as the world wakes up around them. Gorgeous. :)
