Bigmouth, again

Jan 26, 2006 10:10

Bigmouth, who had been missing since Friday, suddenly reappeared in my downstairs neighbour's backyard yesterday! Which is good, except for the fact that she's injured her leg somehow (Bigmouth, not my neighbour) and can no longer climb the stairs to the landing where we had been setting out her food.

So far, all she's done is eat the food I've brought down and sleep curled up in a corner flower bed. However, my neighbour (I'll call her J.), while not being unkind, does not really want an elderly, injured cat living in her yard. So we're at a crossroads as to what to do next. I don't believe the poor kitty has too much longer to live (although she doesn't appear to be in any pain, she's unable to walk for more than a few steps), and would like to see her spend the remainder of her days with us, but how to go about doing that, I have no clue. I'm hoping that J. will relent and let her stay, but if not ...

I wonder if there are any shelters which would take care of her (i.e., not put her to sleep unless it was absolutely necessary). I'd worry, though, that she would be lonely or scared in a strange place (Rhi, the *huge* softie). Silly, fluffy, loud-mouthed, kitty. What are we to do with you?

And the Roost forum is giving me no end of trouble this morning. "phpBB : Critical Error. Could not connect to the database." And why the %$*&@ *not*? There's nothing wonky as far as I can see via the cPanel or WebHost Manager. I've got a support ticket in, so maybe the hosting company can figure it out. I just hope they get to it soon.
