5 ways to acting like a spy (when you're actually not)

In Team Fortress 2, being a spy can be hard and one of the biggest giveaways that you are a spy is acting suspicious as fuck.  But what if you’re not a spy at all and you just want to screw around with your teammates?  Well this article is just for you.

WARNING:  Acting like a spy when you’re actually not can make your teammates hate and “rage” at you.  So be careful and try not to piss anybody off too much.

1.  When a teammate or teammates are walking in your direction, walk the other way or try to avoid them.  Most teammates who see this will automatically think you’re a spy and give chase.

2.  Try to hide from your teammates.  This isn’t Hide and Seek Fortress.  Why would you be hiding?  You must be a spy, you bastard!

3.  Pick the right class.  Any class can be a disguise for a true spy, but when most people see a spy, regardless of team color, they immediately spy check them just to be sure.

4.  When being fired upon by your teammates, strife or zigzag like you’re trying to dodge their fire.

5.  Try not to talk on your mic as it will give away which team you’re actually on.

For example, I was on the map 2fort (I know I‘m sorry.  Please forgive me.)  About three or four of my teammates were regrouping in the sewers while I was just going down there.  I stopped and started to back away when they saw me.  They saw my hesitation and began firing at me.
I soon turned and ran back up the stairs and hid myself between a wall and a few boxes.  When they got up the stairs and found me crouching in my hidey place, they began to let loose a barrage of bullets and melees.  When they discovered I wasn’t dead from such an attack, they moved on and went about their business with me secretly giggling to myself.

Remember, these steps maybe fun, but they can also be rage inducing for your teammates.  But it will keep them on their toes for real spies at least.
