Scholarships I could win easily:
1) Possessor of pointless knowledge about the Beatles (for example, Paul McCartney lost his virginity when he was 15. That's one of my favorites)
2) Smallest handwriting
3) Most and stupidest nicknames for pet
4) Most anal about list-making
If only I could really get money for these things. I always wanted to be on "Carmen Sandiego" and I used to study atlases because I thought someday I would be. The part at the end where they had to point out all the countries was always really hard for me to watch because I knew the answers. I should be on "Jeopardy." Or "Super Millionaire." I was watching that last night, and the guy's knowledge of root words was just appalling.
Now I'm working on a "My Turn" essay for this Newsweek scholarship. One of the stipulations is that your essay must be true. I say, what is truth? I laugh at their silly rules.
