I spent five hours yesterday wrapping fabric around comic book boards to create 200 mini bolts. Then I ordered 100 more boards. Maybe 200 more would have been better, but I'm not buying more. The idea is to keep the fabric from becoming more and more sloppy every time I need to remove one piece from its midst. But also, I need to keep the collection small and not be one of those sewing ladies who horde fabric in seriously disturbing ways.

(sadly, the mess in these pictures is only... 80% of the mess--and a lot better looking than it was a week ago!)

The biggest problem here is that once I take one fabric, everything else gets shifted around. It's not quick and easy to put things back nicely. I start leaving fabric on the desk, table, ironing board, etc. I start shoving it in messily any where it will fit on the shelves.
After:
We have a long way to go but it's already a lot more visually appealing.
