My brother and I were in the same kindergarten class, but when it came to elementary school, we were always split up. There were several times when I was intensely jealous of my brother because his class did some project that was way cooler than whatever my class was doing. One of these was from first or second grade where he painted a picture of a monster and made up a story of a couple sentences to go with it. His monster story was framed and on display in our rec room for ages.
So, I have some fabrics. One is a pirate map. One is Vikings and sea serpents. One is dragons. And one is like the beginners' paper used when one is in first or second grade.
I want to make a very simple mini-quilt wall hanging for myself that captures the spirit of the little girl who was so darn jealous of her brother's painting/story.
But I'm having trouble with my story. It needs to be simple (and maybe not as weird as I am).
My story ideas go like this:
Found pirate's map. Yay, treasure!
We left at dawn after a rousing lecture about rickets & scurvy.
We were warned about the sea serpents, but the dragons were a surprise.
Or like this:
Day 1 - We left at dawn and headed west.
Day 7 - Viking raiders really smell. Must find better travel agent.
Day 12 - Smelly Vikings are a dragon delicacy! Who knew?
What story would you tell?
