More House of Go
Experienced my first death of a Sim last night. (Mostly played Sims 2 with aging turned off.)
It was Akira. I resurrected him right away, but still. Dude. I cried when I finally got Hikaru on the scene and crying on Ghost!Akira's shoulder. (I almost wish I'd let Akira stay a ghost longer, so I'd get more Hikaru-and-a-ghost action time.)
But before that... Well, Akira was out at the fishing hole by himself and I knew that Akira and Hikaru were in danger of dying any minute because they were 89-day old Sims and their life progression bars were completely full. (For what I thought would be the last day of both of their lives, I had them tutoring Akari and her new husband like mad. Because Akira and Hikaru have both mastered the logic skill and I wasn't sure that I'd get a chance to revive both of them, and I didn't want to lose all that skill...)
Akari was pregnant, though, and I had to keep an eye on her, too. So Akira got away from me for a bit and then there came the Grim Reaper and maybe it was best Hikaru was sleeping at home, but that made me sad.
And I didn't know quite when I could use Divine Intervention on him, so I kept trying and got no where with it. And then I had to check on Akari and wake up Hikaru, and when I got back to Akira (Ghost!Akira) he and the Grim Reaper were standing facing each other, with their heads bent over books. Ghost!Akira was reading a murder mystery. ...
Got Hikaru out there, we had our little cry, and then Akari went into labor and when I got control back again, Hikaru and Akira were playing catch out by the pond and they were standing in spots completely inaccessible when the Sims aren't running on automatic. Akira was actually standing in the middle of a giant boulder. Later that night, I caught him standing knee deep on the porch. (Akira says once you see the Hand of God, little things like physics are no match for you. Or something.)
Hikaru is now 91 days old. I knew he had a chance to live longer than Akira (because he reached the Marathon Runner milestone which is supposed to help Sims live longer), but I wonder how much longer he's got. And will I cry again?
Hikaru and Akira's granddaughter is Touya Nase. :)
(Akari got to marry the townie!Sim I was hoping she would. I only liked him because he used to go watch Akira and he looked a bit Timberlakey. He must have been a teen then, but still Timberlakey. When Akari turned to a young adult, I set her to chasing him right away. He must have been a young adult then too. He aged up between when they started going steady and when they got engaged and he changed his look. Now he's got a chin stripe. So, Akari wanted to marry Justin Timberlake and got Justin and JC's secret love child instead. He was rich, lived in the most expensive house in the game, yet when they married, they couldn't afford to move back into his house. Boo. But it was a nice $25,000 extra to play with.)
Oh! And you know what Akira's dying wish was?
To take a bubble bath. ...
