Sick puppy, sick Hubs, sick me, sick state....

Ada puppy, poor little thing, has been sick. She's been not eating, though she's still drinking water and eating some things (usually puppy cookies after going out), and things are coming out normally, so I think that most of the problem is allergies making her feel yucky. I've managed to get her allergy pills in her most days, and pepto for her tummy, but she still won't eat her food. She won't allow her sister, Christabel the piggy puppy, to eat it, either, so we've had several little tiffs over that these last few days. Last night I made a big pot of puppy chicken and rice, and Ada snarfed hers down (I gave piggy puppy some too, so she wouldn't get jealous), and the Ada ate some of her regular food, so I think things may be on the mend. This morning both puppies got the chicken and rice (Ada much more, of course, since Christabel ate her regular food). Tonight we'll bathe the Ada puppy (she hates it when that happens) and see if we can't stop some of the itching she's got going on. I think her allergies are as bad as Savannah puppy's were, though Ada hasn't chewed herself raw like Savannah used to, thank Heavens.

Hubs is home sick today. I felt a migraine building as I drove in, so it was aleve and imitrex and caffeine as soon as I got in my office. The pain is still fighting to hang on, but the aleve helped with the horrible shoulder/neck pain caused by the imitrex. Of course, since I took aleve, I had to take pepto bismol to help protect my stomach.... it's one thing after another, I tell ya!

South Carolina made the national news again! What a state to live in! Let's see. Today it's the Congressman who called our President a liar in the middle of his speech last night (because apparently his Mama raised him to have no manners). Before that, a visit to a SC Wal-Mart inspired two young men to create a blog of pictures of the bizarre people who go to Wal-Mart. Before that, there was the man caught with the apparent love of his life, a horse named Sugar. All summer it's been the story of our Governor, who went AWOL for days, thus leaving the State without leadership (which everyone outside of the state is desperately trying to make about his affair, but the problem is the lack of leadership and the first-class flights for a "fiscal conservative" who keeps whining "All the other governors fly first class" to which I will respond as my Mama would: "If all the other governors jumped off a bridge, would you jump off a bridge, too?"). I know there's been more, I just can't remember them right now.... I love South Carolina, but geez Louise, can't we EVER make the national news for something GOOD?

politics, migraine, general whining
