I don't usually do this...
but I'm going to rec some fics (or at least one).
First: If you've ever been a fan of the Mighty Ducks movies (the live-action ones), go read this fic, Growing Pains, here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2749572/1/ It takes place at the beginning of the 3rd Movie at Eden Hall, but has Portman and maybe Jesse (I can't remember). It starts at the beginning of their sophmore year, and the author has 3 new characters. Now before you panic, their not Mary Sues or Gary Stu (yes, one of them is a guy). They are Dylan Howard: a wise-cracking, sarcastic dancer who thrives on annoying the heck out of people. He could get any girl, but alas, the one he likes wants to castrate him. Carmen Rivera: the object of Dylan's affection. Hates him with every fiber of her being, but puts up with him and his schemes. Carmen has a very short temper, and is an real Ice Queen, but she uses it to help the Ducks. She can scare the crap out of anyone, except Dylan & Maddie. Madison Cho: aforementioned friend of Carmen. Possibly the only one who can calm her down and reason with her when she's in a bad mood. Dancer, along with Dylan, who is always hyper and rarely in a bad mood. So anyway, the author seems to weave these characters into the story as if they've been there forever. I cannot say how good this story is, it makes you laugh non-stop, but it is serious too. After you're done with the first story, go read the sequel about their junior year, which is good as the first one: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2994133/1/. Go now, read, and worship the author. She deserves it.
Second: Another Mighty Ducks Fiction, but much more of a humorous one. Entitled Mary Sue 101, located here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1931794/1/. Basically, the Ducks are upset about all the mary sues running rampant in their fandom, and this is one wonderful reply. Each chapter is 'taught' by a different duck, and talks about the different aspects of a Mary Sue (or a Gary Stu). It is just wonderful. again; go, read and worship.
3rd: A PR Rec. A very serious one. This is a Kat/Jason, so be forewarned. In case you've never heard of Dagmar Buse (and what rock have you been living under?), she is an amazing writer who has many notable Kat & Jason stories, but writes other things as well. I can't say too much about the story without giving anything away, so I will give you the author's summary: Kat gets pregnant by Tommy's best friend. Will their mistake tear the exrangers' friendship apart forever?. This story is a real-tearjerker, especially one of the later chapters. Have tissues ready.
4th: Yes, PR. an odd coupling, but it works. It's a one-shot Kai/Karone story. Just go read it already here: http://www.paladar.com/fanware/room5/charrell115.htm
