Weekend Plans
Fun prep for the 8/24 release of MOCKINGJAY! I can’t wait to pick up my copy at Annie Bloom’s Books next Tuesday. I - and probably hundreds of thousands of other readers - will be tired Wednesday.
I’m also meeting the lovely Tara Kelly after work today. She’s the author of HARMONIC FEEDBACK, which I loved.
I’m planning to review some books, and will include Tara’s when I do. Maybe I’ll focus on contemporary realistic fiction. Which reminds me - have you heard of The Contemps yet? They’re a group of 21 authors whose books will be coming out over the course of the next year. Their focus is, you guessed it, contemporary realistic YA … a genre which sometimes gets less attention than high-concept fantasy and paranormal.
Check them out - they’ve issued a challenge here. All you have to do is send an email saying, “I accept the challenge,” (go to the link for details) and you might win each of their books as they’re released! What could be better than free books arriving in your mail?
Okay, normally I’d say, “Have a great weekend!” but apparently I’ll be here tomorrow and Sunday … attempting to complete my own challenge of blogging every day in the second half of August (BEDITSHOA). :-/
