Best pic we could manage of me with the big poster of "Dancing" where the title showed. Thanks to everyone who made it #22 on the e-book list!

That's a bad case of jaundice there.

I do not get that picture. Obviously it's supposed to be Nathaniel, with the purple eyes, but whyfor the cracked plaster or whatever in front of the eye? And what does it have to do with anything that happens in the story? Okay, not much actually happens, but still. Also, I'm surprised LKH let that go through, since that eye is definitely purple, not lavender. The picture in general looks like it was thrown together in ten minutes by a non-professional.

Maybe the plaster-looking stuff is supposed to signify the fact that reading the book is like watching paint dry. Except watching paint dry is more fun. For one thing, paint is usually not offensive.

Being gigantic does nothing to improve that cover.

The title is so small compared to her name. I know the size of the author's name tends to be bigger when the author is more popular/well known, but the book title just seems tiny in comparison.

And for a novella about a bbq, surburbia, and teaching kids to dance ballet, there doesn't seem much point to the suspense/thriller-type cover.

Even if the story did actually belong in the suspense/thriller genre, could there be a bigger disconnect between the style of the cover and the sound of the title? Seriously, what's next?

Yay; it took me a whole five minutes to take a photograph I liked. XD

I might add the title is from a list I found of stupid euphemisms for having sex...

This only emphasizes how awful the covers are :/
Also, it is normal for authors to receive lifesize cut-outs of the cover?

That's what I wondered. I mean, it makes sense for big books -- but for the itty bitty e-book?

Though I have a friend who is published through Carina, and apparently she can request high quality copies of the cover art to use on her promotional items (bookmarks and whatnot). Maybe LKH asked for the files to make her own great big cover?
