Last night, out of boredom, I was idly sifting through the reviews on Amazon for DM. And I cam across THIS little gem of a review for the MP3 Audio edition. I thought I would post it here and share. Couldn't help myself.
Audio version(MP3), August 22, 2006
The reader, Cynthia Holloway, made an attempt to give each character a different voice, but what ended up happening was fake irritating sounding voices that took away from the story, and made it a lot less enjoyable. Also, the MP3 format did not complete certain chapters and you lost as many as nine pages. I have enjoyed many audio versions of Laurell K. Hamilton's books, but this one has been the most unsatisfactory.
Okay. This isn't a review flog by any means, but I read this and started cracking up because I was picturing the person that read this for the audio version trying to give different "voices" to the characters and just about died laughing. Can you imagine it? I remember someone commented awhile back about how they wondered how the audio reader could keep from laughing herself.
And well, I will admit, there's a very sick part of me that is tempted to buy the audio version and listen to it. I just KNOW it would be a laugh riot.
Has anyone else bought the audio version? I'm curious. :D
