I love weekends.
Friday -
After a failed attempt to make it to the gymnastics meet due to horrendous traffic, Clinton and I ended up at Stubbies, this awesome little bar downtown that has hundreds (?) of beers. Good times there, Clinton drank some crazy beers and I sipped a bit of his.
Saturday -
Woke up to drive to Saint Augustine. :) The drive there went quick, got to St. Augustine and had lunch at Gypsys before going to the KOA to set up our ghetto little tent. (which i love). There were some scary dogs in the tent site next to us, one of which was named Princess ironically, but they didn't bark TOO much.
After getting the tent to stand upright with a little bit of ingenuity and packaging tape we drove over the Bridge of Lions, aka the Bridge of Construction, to go to Downtown St. Augustine. I absolutely loved St. Augustine when Clinton and I went there for our 1-year anniversary. Almost 2 years later, I still absolutely love it. Sure there are tourists but they;re not obnoxious and there are so many little side roads you can walk down its never too crowded.
Spent the day walking around, had a beer tasting at A1A Brewery (his favorite) then a wine tasting at San Sebastian Winery (my favorite). Ended up at Mango Mangoes for dinner, if we end up living in St. Augustine (which is something I would love) that will definitely be one of 'our places'
After buying marshmallows and a lighter from the mean KOA store lady, we toasted marshmallows along with half a bottle of Goldschlager and some wine. Camping is fun...
Sunday -
Slept in despite the pain in our bodies from sleeping on the hard ground. Had mimosas and some amazing food at a champagne jazz brunch before coming back to reality in Gville and he eventually left for Orlando.
It was definitely a last minute trip, but I think thats what made it so good. We definitely are rekindled now and I couldn't be happier. :)
