American Football Spectacular: Terrell Owens Would Like Your Help!

This just in from Terrell Owens' email list:

"SEND T.O. TO THE PRO-BOWL

He's on pace for yet another outstanding season, is leaving defenses grasping for air, and as promised, has brought swagger back to the Dallas Cowboys.

This may mean that Owens isn't doing that well in the Pro Bowl voting this year. Hmm.

First, let's examine his claims:

1.) Q: Is he on pace for an outstanding season?
A: His stats are quite good for a number one receiver; near to 1000 yards on the year, with 9 touchdowns. Not bad, despite only two games in which he went for over 100 yards. But currently, he is leading the league in dropped passes.

2.) Q: Is he leaving defenses grasping for air?
A: Not really. In games, he's shown that he can be squeezed and shut down. I mean, he only had three receptions for 56 yards in the critical NFC matchup against New Orleans last week. And New Orleans' defense is barely average by NFL standards, with no one you've heard of except perhaps the dreadlocked cornerback Mike McKenzie. He's put up some strong stats against teams with weaker secondaries, like Houston and the NYG. Posting strong stats against weak teams but disappearing against strong teams is also known as the "A-Rod Condition."

3.) Q: Has he brought swagger back to the Cowboys?
A: Oh hell naw. He's been a distracting factor all season long. From the preseason hammy injury, to the overdose debacle, to openly questioning coaching calls, to falling asleep in Cowboy meetings, to his current BS about how there's a "snitch" on the team. What is this, the Raiders? The person who has brought the swagger back to the Cowboys would be Head Coach Bill "Tuna" Parcells. Terrell Owens, swagger?! Pshaw. T.O. is merely an finger-pointing irresponsible annoyance when off-the-field. He wants so badly to be known for all the good things he does, like his charity work, but it seems like he can't help but be a bloviating douche-bag when people try to hold him responsible for the bad decisions/plays that he has made. Owens consistently throws under the bus the folks who have gone out on a limb for him.

So, head on over to the Pro Bowl voting website, and vote for the wide receivers and players that you feel have earned their trip to Hawaii this season. That Jeff Garcia fella has been looking pretty good in Philly lately...
