A comment I made in this post:

"Stop catering to MySpace and Facebook. You have a core group of customers, some of whom have been around for close to a decade. If you are that desperate to play nice-nice with the MySpace and Facebook generation, create a new and seperate (and optional!) offshoot of lj and call it "LJ Networking". THERE. I posted this in news and lj_design. They said they wanted feedback, and saying it's ugly (even though it is) isn't feedback.

- I do not understand what you mean by scaling well. Who cares if it hasn't been updated. I have introduced NUMEROUS people to LJ and the profile page is NEVER one of their complaints.
- If you are going to add the text you might as well take away the picture, it just looks cluttered that way. What was wrong with the scroll over?
- How was it scattered before? Yes the journal creation and comments and such were all at the bottom, but that is not what MOST people are looking for.
- I am sorry, but I did not like it when facebook changed, to their new system, it's harder to find things, and to navigate. I feel like you are doing the same thing. I understand your making things collapsible, BUT you didn't do it very well. Schools and basic information should NOT be under the same collapsible section. I LIKE the basic information, I could CARE LESS about schools, so collapse schools I have to collapse basic information.
- Why not move the star/thumbs up back to next to the screen name. And get rid of the text for it, and make it a scroll over?
- You guys are funny. You said you wanted to make things clearer, except when you put in basic information, like AIM and such, you didn't write that out. Contradict yourself much?
- I can't remember the font you used for friends/communities before, but this font (or maybe where it is positioned in relation to the page?) it just looks like it's floating there, and harder (for me) to read.
- Why do we need THREE different boxes for communities? it takes up SO much room, yes I can collapse it, but I shouldn't have to.
- I like the links to take you to your friends pages and such, BUT I want to see my FRIENDS PAGE, that INCLUDES communities. . .so that is a little wonky.

Just my 2c

(me rambling)

I wish someone would post a poll and it would spread through lj about who likes and dislikes the changes. Just a click, yes I like them, no I don't like them, I kind of like them, I would have been more open if I understood them, etc)
