Skin update poll, and submission to lj_nifty!
Okay, first off - I've submitted a post advertising this community to lj_nifty, finally. It should show up soon. :D
I was asked recently about what should happen if a skin is updated; whether a new post should be made by the author, or whether it was okay for it just to be mentioned in the post. Given those two extremes, I would normally be inclined to lean towards no post, but that makes it harder for people not using Stylish to obtain information about updates.
There are two more solutions I can think of - have a dedicated 'update post' where top-level comment threads are started for each skin, or have a top-level update comment thread on the post for the skin itself. Either way, the author can then post update announcements in that thread and people can track the thread to obtain news about updates.
Having a dedicated update post would allow someone to track the entire post and receive updates on all skins at once, whereas having the thread on the skin post would mean that updates can be seen easily without having to worry about finding the update post.
I have my own opinion on this, but I want to put this to a poll to see what people think. Please let me know! :D
