Title: Guilty Conscience
Rating: G
Word count: 149
Series: Night World
Claim: Mary-Lynnette
Prompt: Betrayal
Summary: Sometimes she wondered which one of them had betrayed the other the worst.

Mary-Lynnette Carter had always been a good person. Maybe a little bit too fascinated with the night sky for some people, but no one expected that she had anything to so with Jeremy Lovett's disappearance No one thought that she, plain and innocent Mary-Lynnette Carter might have killed someone; someone who for years had been the only person that she could ever imagine herself being with.

Reasonably, she knew that she had had no choice. He was a psychopath. He would have killed her, Ash and probably lots more people if she had let him get away. Knowing that didn't make it hurt any less though. He had betrayed her. For years she had thought of him as the only person in Briar's Creek who could ever understand her... And she had killed him.

Sometimes she wondered which one of them had betrayed the other the worst.
