"AGH!"
I promptly adjust my nice-smelling hanky over my face, and start strumming away at my mandolin, attempting to warn everyone.
I said the little leatherwing bat I'll tell to you the reason that The reason that I fly by night Is because I've lost my heart's delight.
I can see your heart is tired And your courage has worn thin You wonder how long you will have to hang on But when My love comes in, you'll be strong again!
Inspire Courage!"
I'll also maneuver however I can to give the bruisers enough room to get in there at the bat-things.
...Uh, just how many of these bat-things are we talking about? Here's a few identification rolls, too:
Feel free to visit the lj's of the slackers and harass them. Except ominod, I know why he's not here, he's got life stuff going on. And your wife, who is dead to me ;)

I loudly declare that my blood is horrid and watery and very sour-tasting - maybe they'll get the hint.
As far as the hanky/mandolin combo goes, just imagine someone holding the top of the mandolin in the crook of his left elbow, while the left hand keeps the hanky covering his face and the right hand strums away.
Barring all that, I jam pieces of the hanky up my nose or something to hold it up there. :) (No, this is NOT dignified at all.)
Well, nothing says you have to play the mandolin well for the effect to work, so that will work for you.
Anyone else will have to either take minuses if they are attempting to hold the hanky in place and do something else with 2 hands at the same time. Or face the possibility of losing the cloth if they are not holding it.

[Okay, that was atrocious. Carry on.]

Btw, how are you, holding the hanky on your face and strumming your mandolin? :)
