A38: Weaponsmith Workshop

Feb 23, 2006 15:36

Several large workbenches are arranged in a haphazard fashion in the room. A large furnace sits unlit in the northern corner.

"Nothing in here going to kill us? Good!"

"Hrm."

*Punch searches the room for anything of interest and takes note of any and all exits*

Swindler sets down his masterwork spear he's been toting (and using for support today), takes out his crossbow, and does a quick scan of the room for any items of interest.

**Search = 17 (10 +7)

He then goes to check out the furnace, listening to make sure there's nothing crawling around inside, then putting a hand near it to make sure there's no heat, then checking it for traps, disarming them if they are found, then finally opening it and checking out if anything's been stashed in there.

**Listen = 7 (3 +4)
**Search (trap) = 26 (19 +7)
**Disable Device (if required) = 18 (11 +7)
**Search (if opened) = 15 (8 +7)

Sorry about the delay.

Other than the tools that Punch is picking through, there doesn't seem to be much of interest in here.

Opening the furnace doesn't reveal much other than a pile of ash.

Noting that nothing in the room has tried to jump out and eat either the warforged or the rogue, Talbot will enter and give the room a once-over as well.

Search: 10+3=13

Uh, looks like a good set of tools there, eh?

And that's about it!

Looking around, you think there are enough tools here for you to put together a set of repair tools for yourself, or for some other kind of smithing.

Jug'Jug will enter and go about breaking up the workbenches for wood, adding another 10 pounds of it to her pack if able?

[OOC: I forget, does having a set of smithing tools help me on my Craft: Armor rolls, and therefore help me recover more HP everytime I do it? If so, I'm going to gather up a complete set. If not, I'll just leave them.]

*Punch turns a few of the tools over in his hands*

"Hmm. These could be of use."

Talbot nods approvingly at Jug'Jug's actions.

"An excellent idea, madam Jug'Jug. I daresay that if we have a need to rest again, this might make an excellent place to rest - large, roomy, no sticky blood or nasty things wanting to eat us, and a furnace for burning some wood to boot."

She begins to tie the wood up with sliced leather strips from her old armor.

"Gotta cuuk dem ratz somehuw."

Patting her pack she regards the iron spike driven into the stone floor, holding the door open.

"Wunder what put dat der.. 'ad to be strong whutever it was."

"Maybe if we can take that spike out, we can use it to hold another door shut while we rest. Would you care to do the honors, madam Jug'Jug?"

Her eyes light up at the idea and she offers a grin to the man.

"Lat pretti smurt.. Jug'Jug just dink'n dat."

A sense motive roll of 1 could root out the obvious lie. She'll grab one of the heaviest hammers or mallets in the room and attempt to knock the steel spike and stone work around it loose.

Sense Motive: 12 + 6 = 18!

A gentleman never questions a lady when it's not necessary or vital!

"Keep trying, madam Jug'Jug! You can do it!"

[Think of this as training for Inspire Competence. :D]
