World o' beers
A beer for blind people has been released in Germany. Dusseldorf's Uerige beer, considered one of the world's best 'Alt' beers by
experts, is now releasing new 0.33 litre bottles with a Braille label. Blind activist Joana welcomed the news, reports Ananova news
service. She said: "For blind people, every drink is actually a lucky dip. You often have no idea what's about to go in your mouth.
But with this bottle you are clearly told what it is -- and that's fabulous."
A British seasonal ale, Santa's Butt, is falling afoul of New England authorities, who fear it might appeal to underage drinkers.
The label shows Father Christmas holding a flagon of ale. "Butt" is a brewery term for a barrel, adds Newquest Media News, but has a
different meaning in the United States.

Ok, so I'll admit that I would be very curious to see this beer bottle with a braille label on it, but its really more of a novelty then anything. For this Joana (notice they wouldn't give her last name) to say its a "lucky dip" shows me she needs some serious rehab skills! Come on, any blind beer drinker who is worth his/her weight in malted hops has long since learned to tell their favorite brand by the different shapes of the bottle. Also, except maybe at parties, most people usually don't have more then about one or two different brands at any given time. A little organizational skills solves this problem with no difficulties! As for the second section of this story, I find it highly amusing. I would love to walk in to a bar and ask for a sample of Santas Butt! Yes, of course Santa is a beer drinker, how do you think he got the belly that looks like a bowl full of jelly? Also, When I was a kid, we used to leave a beer out for Santa on Christmas eve and it was always gone in the morning!
