Bad news.
My mother just called to let me know my sister was in the hospital. Apparently she was six weeks pregnant but the baby wasn't growing in the uterus so she'll need to have it removed. It was her first pregnancy and she'd been trying for a while. Hopefully they will be able to salvage her ovaries so she'll be able to get pregnant again.
I was on my way to become an uncle, and I didn't know it. Now it's back from scratch. I need to call her tomorrow.
