Wow, that weekend fucking rocked.
The concert, of course, was fantastic. All the bands were good, and the 69 Eyes just kicked ass beyond belief. The House of Blues was a good venue for the show, too. A semi-intimate, standing-room only bar/club atmosphere allowed for a nice mosh pit for Wednesday 13, after which we were able to squeeze right to the front for the headliners. I danced/headbanged myself into whiplash and went semi-deaf. Good shit. I discovered the downside, though - the drink prices. I mean, $9.25 for a Red Bull & vodka? Please. 'S all good, though, as I didn't need to drink - I was too high on my own adrenaline.
The rest of the weekend went wonderfully. We took a jaunt to the Art Institute on Saturday, after which we hit Millenium Park, Grant Park, and Navy Pier. That night we baked several high-sugar substances that will no doubt slam me into a diabetic coma. Yay glycemic index! On Sunday, prior to the concert, we hit downtown Oak Park, including the discount bookstore and Penzey's Spices, then had a delicious dinner at the Greek restaurant. We didn't have the chance to go sailing or eat Thai food, so we'll have to save those for next time. Woot!
Other than that, I'm keeping busy. All's well. Mackinac in two and a half weeks! Pick up Tyrion in a month! Hell yeah I'm excited.
