Downton Abbey (this may technically have been at the very end of 2010, but I can't quite remember)

Hunger Games (Sort of. I read them, and I loved them, but I'm not really into the fandom as such.)
Dark Tower (in-process, on recommendation from my bro-in-law. Jury's still out.)

2: What fandoms did you let go of in 2011?
Well, I'm in the process of letting go of Top Gear and QI, or rather transitioning from watch-every-episode to casual viewer.
3: What fandoms did you mean to get into but didn't in 2011? Why?
None, really.
4: What fandoms do you intend on checking out in 2012?
Sherlock (yes, finally)
5: What fandoms do you think you might let go of in 2012 unless things significantly improve?
None, really. All my shows are in a really good spot right now. :)
6: What fandoms do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get? Why?
Probably Downton Abbey, though it kind of depends on how long it goes and just how crappy we're talking. ;)
Also Psych, but that's mostly because I can't imagine it being crappy.

Spooks. So tense! So edgy! So much Peter Firth!!
8: What show impressed you least in 2011?
Gosh, this is hard! I guess one of the ones I'm letting go of, probably QI.

Got on national TV in a foreign country!

I don't know if I made any.

I'm not really into New Year's Resolutions...

My teammate. And a lady I knew.
5. Did anyone close to you die?
That same lady I knew. Also my great-uncle.

Germany, "Tazbekstan", Netherlands (the airport), United States
7. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
A grad school acceptance letter...
8. What dates from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory?
June 12th - the day I flew home
July 10th - the day my sister and her family left for Kenya
August 28th - the day I flew back here
November 30th - the day that lady I knew died
9. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finishing a year of teaching! Staying with a job longer than a year. :)
10. What was your biggest failure?
I don't feel like I've had any big failures this year...
11. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nope. I don't think I even threw up this year.
12. What was the best thing you bought?
I bought several t-shirts that I really like. :) The Han & Chewie/Calvin & Hobbes one may be my favorite, though.
13. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Umm...the kids I teach? Also my grandma, for moving out of her house of 60 years.
14. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Gosh, no one.
15. Where did most of your money go?
Living expenses.
16. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The Harry Potter finale. Also NIAHD. And my three days of free internet just now. Downton Abbey. ;)

Er...maybe Last Friday Night. Or Superbass. Something overplayed on the radio this summer. :P

Happier. :)

The internet - keeping me in touch with the other side of the world. :)

Er, I actually went through a couple this year. I think I started with Brendan Coyle, which led to Richard Armitage, which led to PETER FIRTH who...won. Yeah, he definitely won.

Ugh, I'm just glad I'm on this side of the world and don't have to worry about all that campaign nonsense right now. :P

"Best"? That's hard to define. Um, maybe my third roommate who was here for just four months. She was awesome. :)
