It's been a bit quiet here for a while. Mea culpa, the last choice of prompt didn't inspire any entries at all, so with no poll to post it kind of slipped my mind to put up a new topic as well...

So let's see if this new topic is any more inspiring. The Large Hadron Collider, a massive particle accelerator designed to find the Higgs Boson, a particle which may or may not be elementary, or indeed even exist.
