house stuff
I'm continuing my battle with clutter today. And I'm getting quite a bit done because all of the kids are *gone*. Crystal and Carl took their six plus one of ours to the UP, and the other one of ours went to his other grandparents for the weekend.
I've got the upstairs office that used to be Christopher's room emptied of all the junk that's been accumulating in there since March -- a lot of supplies like cans of paint and the ends of the rolls of vinyl floor covering, plus boxes of books. This is going to be my new office.
Chris' favorite color was orange, and when we showed him color samples, he picked out a very bright pumpkin orange. So that's the color of his room. To brighten it up, I had one of the guys who was hanging around the house paint a mural of a bright while tree.
It's kind of a mess, and the wall definitely needs to be washed. For now, I'm going to leave that. I kinda like the orange - it makes me feel heart-easy. But when we go to sell the house I'm sure we'll have to paint it.
I've purchased a refurbished desktop. I need to put up shelves. I might put some kind of futon there for extra kid/guest sleeping space.
Having an office to write in with a desk where I can set a cup of coffee that's not right by the TV will be nice. Originally posted to Dreamwidth, were there are
