Scientific Reticence and the Fate of Humanity is worth the read.
Pretty much, it is James Hanson saying, "Hey, scientists! Hey other people! Scientists aren't writing about how bad it'll get if we don't get our shit together. This is a problem."
One thing he doesn't explore is *why* scientists aren't writing about how bad it could get. He alludes to it, but doesn't come right out and say it. He needs to say it.
There's a paper by a member of the department of philosophy, University of Lethbridge, that looks at what Hanson is talking about, "
