...different day

Today has been a day. We got up early and went to court with Jerome. Last March, a friend of his took him practice driving with her mother's car, and Jerome jumped a curb. He got a ticket for driving without a permit or license. He had a deal with the prosecutor that the charges would be dropped if he got his permit by today ( Read more... )

Phew! Good luck with everything. (Any special house-hunting deals you might qualify for, like those ones that roll in repair costs with the mortgage?)

I used to be busy ... miss it.

We talked to a loan-dude and he said that our credit rating (well, Mike's credit rating) is fair (610) but that there's some stuff that would have to be cleaned up (about $2500) and we'd have to pay down our credit cards (about $1000) -- so what we're looking at is being able to buy something in about 6-8 months. *Or* if we can sell the manufactured home that we're in (we own it) we could use that for a significant down payment.

I dunno. I don't think I could have a quiet life. This skating on the edge of chaos is what I'm used to, and it ... I feel happy, like I've got a reason to push through every day. A part of me says that I shouldn't need to have a purpose, that just living is okay. But I've had that, well, not very often, but once in a while, for a month or two, and it drives me crazy.

It's funny, because what you GIVE is stability, constancy, dependability. Perhaps your rolling with the punches attitude is what makes you able to do that.
