progress report

It's got cold this week. Frost on the tent cold. Brrr, don't wanna throw back the blankets cold.

I'm now at a 91.7% comprehensive, in my main nursing class. I need a 92% for a 4.0 Almost there! I'm trying to not sweat it; there's nothing wrong with a B+. But getting an A would be sweet.

I was so tired yesterday that I fell asleep at around 8pm, and slept pretty soundly until 0530.

Right now, the shelter looks a little like a archeology dig. There are several layers. There's an upper layer that's only about one foot deep, the next layer that's about two feet deep, and the three foot layer I'm working on. Hopefully, by Sunday night, half of the shelter will be down 3 1/2 feet (~140 cm) and I want to be down to 5 foot on that half by September 26.

That means that I'll have a 16' X 16' hole, with one 8' X 16' half at 5 ft. deep, and the other half at 1' deep. Then I'll dig the french drain out for that one deep 16' side, put up the wall and brace it, put up the roof beam on that side and move my tent down in that spot. I'll put a tarp across the roof and that way I'll be out of the wind and quite a bit warmer at night.

Then I'll need to start digging out the other side. I'll probably dig that out in halves, too. We'll see. Right now, I just hope to get the roof on before the snow flies.

If I can't, well, that will be when I'll have to call it quits. But I've got to say, I just really, really want to do this. It's a game that I want to win.
