Obligatory Introduction

May 19, 2008 22:43

I thought I should make an introduction since this seems like a more community focused group and have enjoyed many of the posts here.

I'm a 24 year old guy from the midwest and am not overly sure how to classify myself....perhaps some history would help.

Always having at least a passing interest in spirituality I went to college and studied philosophy. The college scene was helpful but I met too many people that turned me off from studying things further. These people, I am sure, meant well but had nothing to offer me. They were all superficial about magic and told me nothing about spirituality that I hadn't learned before. It wasn't until I became a Freemason that I really began to learn things. I was/am fortunate enough to have an amazing Brother who served as my teacher and gave me an introduction into many things, including the occult and the works of Israel Regardie and Aliester Crowley.

I have a wide range of interests and an open mind. My previous studies have been mostly involved in qabalah and ceremonial magick. I have been practicing for several months but only as of late begun writing down my experiences.

This is really just a long winded way (hey I was a philosophy student) of saying Hello, and I do appreciate each and every one of your posts.
