Those were two separate topics that I didn't separate properly.
The friend was an atheist and looked down on all religious people. Unfortunately, he regularly forgot that I'm religious. I gave him a piece of my mind. He decided to go home shortly afterwards. A few months later, he and his new gf played an April Fool's 'prank' on me by making me think she was going to kill herself. We're not friends anymore and I'm very glad. He wasn't good people.

I've met atheists and agnostics who used paganish magical practices. I'm cool with that. It's the ones that start talking about the Gods as nothing but archetypes, symbols, foci, etc that make me go: O_o
If you don't believe in Gods, or are unsure that there are Gods, then leave them alone so the rest of us can use them.

The coven thing is because, like all people, we have our dysfunctions, but a couple of people are skirting the edges of acceptable dysfunction. It all boils down to a lack of respect.
One person wants us to be fine with working full time, meeting twice a week, and having circle until godawful in the morning. She's not responding to respectful feedback and it's really bothering me.
The other one is a huge gossip, doesn't seem to understand how to have a polite conversation, antagonizes people online while representing the coven, and has some emotional issues that he refuses to deal with.
Then there's the fact that my ex is still in the coven and wants to pretend that all the shit I broke up with him over never happened so we can be superhappybestfriends4EVA. When you read those articles that are linked above, keep in mind that he is the Poser.
When you add all that up, you get a twitchy me who wants to set things on fire. The first two people are great when they're not being obnoxious, and the rest of the coven is awesomesauce, but I need some time to un-twitchify and put away the matches.
