the infamous zelkova

So, if any of you so avid members of this community remember back in about June/July, I had just recently received a Zelkova as a gift and was questionning many things about my first bonsai. It has done really well after I gave it fresh soil, switched to distilled water, misted it every day, and kept it watered frequently.

My current question is that now that it is winter are there certain steps I should take in order to care for it most effectively during the cold months? It still sits near a bay window but it has started to drop a lot of leaves. It does need a serious trim job and I've noticed I've needed to water it more. Is there anything else I should do? I haven't added any fertilizer since I got it. Is this something I should do and if so, what kind and how much?

Thanks!
