Hi!
I hope this isn't out of place or against the rules, but I'm kind of desparate. I recently moved my bonsai (with me from home (MA) to college (NJ)) and it is simply not doing so good. I'm pretty sure it is an Australian Cherry (though it has never had flowers), so I know it likes warm weather. I always try to let it dry almost all the way before watering again, and try to keep it from getting too cold. Is it normal for this type of bonsai to lose it's leaves in the fall, or should I be panicking (the way I am)? The leaves have become all brown and crinkly, and some of the teeny branches are very brittle. I am planning on sending it home next weekend with my mum to take it to a bonsai store that also boards them for care, but I'm worried that if I don't do something it will be too late.
Just for reference, I'm pretty sure it was three years old when I got it in March, one and a half years ago. I have not repotted since I got it (because I don't know how, and am afraid of hurting the tree). I was also told that fertilizer was unnecessary, although I recently have started to think maybe that is not true at all.
Any help/advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Lindsay
