lots of stuff today

Oct 31, 2006 14:15

There's a whole lot of stuff going out today -- lots of small things, really, instead of a few bigger things -- so apologies in advance for the length of this update. As usual, we're still in the middle of getting this stuff pushed out, so changes might not take effect for an hour or two.

Bugz -- Related to Styles/Layouts
  • Fixed background colors in Component's theme previews
  • Fixed the "floating images" bug in Bloggish/Style Contest
  • Fixed the horizontal ad placement in Smooth Sailing so it doesn't stretch pages unnecessarily
  • Fixed Tranquility II so it respects using "-" as a linklist spacer
  • OpenID users who use S2 and have the nav strip enabled won't get errors anymore
  • When you click the "Post Comment" link with ?style=mine, you'll keep using your style even after you post the comment
Bugz -- Notifications System
  • CTRL+Click in the Message Center in Firefox finally works.
  • Properly encoding message contents based on your encoding preference.
  • If an entry you subscribed to gets deleted, say so on the Manage Message Settings page (we can't auto-delete them, unfortunately)
  • If you post an entry and choose "Don't Email", it now only affects email, instead of all notification methods
  • If you have over 2000 notifications in your Message Center, the oldest one will be deleted when you receive a new one.
  • Email notifications about new entries include the subject of the entry and its tags
  • Fixed notifications for when a friend you invite creates a journal; this notification now only goes through the notifications system.
  • Users you ban from your journal (and who don't appear on your Friend-of list) won't generate "you've been friended" notifications
Bugz -- Things You May Have Run Into
  • Allowed voiceposts to circumvent the "invalid time error" (otherwise they wouldn't post!)
  • Fixed the Update Journal page to minimize the number of "invalid time error" messages you get
  • Fixed adding an interest to your interests list by clicking the link directly from a search
  • Fixed the bug that caused your journal to switch to Component if you loaded the Setup Account part of the account creation process
  • Fixed the "last updated" date and username for translated FAQs
  • Fixed the bug where entering certain HTML into the Update Journal page would cause the page to render funny
  • Attempted to fix slow pageloads if you have the contextual popup enabled
  • If you have multiple lengthy keywords on a memory, they will no longer get truncated when you edit an entry
  • Removed the maximum length restriction for tags from the Update Journal and Edit Entry pages (otherwise tags got truncated)
  • Fixed the error message you'd get if you attemped to use the Directory Search to search for an interest
  • Fixed the custom color pickers for S1 styles
Bugz -- Various and Sundry
  • Anonymous comments on the Recent Comments page don't have links or images expanded.
  • Memory-ing an entry that's been deleted in the meantime won't prompt you to remove it from your memories (since it's not there!)
  • Fix error you'd receive when deleting an S1 style (despite the style being deleted correctly)
  • Sending an email post with just +PIN in the subject line now works
  • If you rename to an account with automatic payments enabled, they're disabled when you rename.
  • When marking "Restore All" at the Did You Know page, the modules appear again immediately instead of after a delay
  • FOAF pages now to the updated profile URL
  • Expliclitly set Horizon's content-type/encoding to UTF-8
  • Email you receive if your automatic payment fails is clearer on what to do to fix the problem.
  • Fixed the shorthand command for "friends" over TxtLJ (it's now just "f")
  • Fixed some relative links in the Lynx site scheme (that'd point to the wrong place when reading someone's comments)
  • If you try to log in with a non-existent username, the error links to the Create Journal page with that username filled in already
  • Fixed the bug where new permanent account holders who transfer away their paid time temporarily lose access to some paid features
  • Fixed the chronological ordering of old carts on the Payment History page.
  • Fixed the links that told you where you could buy a rename token.
  • Fixed the display of the TxtLJ Status page if you're using Dystopia
  • Emails regarding paid time for communities don't promote ScrapBook or voiceposts, since communities can't use those

Updates/Enhancements
  • Display "0 comments" to journal owners (if they're all screened) in Expressive
  • Distinguish screened comments from regular comments in Expressive

    • HTML allowed in the comment page warning text, profile extra text, free text,
    • Added a sticky post
    • Updated the search form to match the search dropdown options in Horizon

  • Worked on setting up reminders for upcoming automatic payments (not complete yet)
  • Changing notice on the account deletion page to make it clear that it's not where you activate/deactivate your automatic payments
  • Showing the contextual popup to logged-out users
  • The userpic in the contextual popup links to an accounts's full userpic page.
  • Updated the Ad Settings page to include a "change account level" link and a note that checking "no categories" won't turn off ads
  • Updated the Code page, as it was woefully out of date
  • Added "subscribe to get updates" links after you nudge a friend and when you're looking at their userpics page
  • Updated the sponsored community icon

And .... that's about it! As usual, if anything seems to be amiss, feel free to comment. :)
