We have one big change, some smaller changes, and some bugfixes for you this week!
Tag Improvements: (LJSV-1068)
Changes:
- "Poll of the day" has been added on the bottom right of the homepage
- We've added some optimization for the viewing of poll results (they'll be cached so that they don't make a new database call every time they're viewed)
- Logic for ad-serving has been moved from cookies to be client-side
- Added link to mobile services in email footers
- Changed default communities for new users (
news,
writersblock, and
lj_spotlight)
- Increased the storage capacity for all users' "Notes" area (previously could only use 64Kb, and it's been increased through compression)
- We've previously added an "unsubscribe" button to
news notifications, but now users who have not logged in during the past 6 months will be unsubscribed
- The third level of comment threads will be open by default in
ohnotheydidnt but will show fewer comments per page (this may be expanded site-wide, depending on how this goes)
Bugfixes:
- Paid time and tokens can now be sent anonymously
- Small userpic packages now show correct expiration date (LJSV-1078)
- Fixed problem where extra userpic slots were not showing up correctly after purchase (LJSV-1038)
- Corrected error in LiveJournal search results that was causing a 500 error (LJSV-1111)
- Corrected error which was causing search results to be blank (LJSV-1115)
- Non-standard characters in the interests of a journal or community should no longer cause horizontal ads in vertical containers (LJSV-584)
- Support notifications should no longer be empty when they run into encoding conflicts (LJSV-1070)
- Have a possible bugfix for a rare issue where there was a conflict in the number of comments the application thought were on an entry and the number the database thought were in an entry (causing comments not to show) (LJSV-1059)
- Syncing items via RPC from a community no longer causes an error (LJSV-1110)
- Corrected site text that accidentally told users to email do-not-reply instead of webmaster when encountering an error (LJSV-968)
