Hmm, I don't think the animated gif fits the LJ anim-gif spec.

How so? I rolled the GIF-writer from scratch, so it's possible I fouled something up...

I see an icon that says "Please see to the rest of this, Fuyutsky sensei." in an animated way...not sure what might be wrong when viewing it.

Ha - then I guess it's a problem with my browser or something. I just see a blank black square.

There are browsers and also popup blockeres etc that think it's a great plan to disable animated gifs by default. You could check them?
