LJ parser defect exposed by browser bug_duncanAugust 5 2004, 14:51:25 UTC
Technically LJ should escape several characters they don't (or didn't, in your post)... but that would involve even more parseing because they are used all over the place as part of something else.
& should be & " should be "
Which browser are you using that sees μltidelete where &multidelete was written?
Whenever I post anything, I always check the "Don't auto-format" box, because I'd rather type the code for things like & myself and be sure of what I'm getting, rather than rely on LJ to escape whatever needs escaping. (I never bother to escape quotes, though; they work fine written as is.) Of course, my head starts to spin a little when I try to write posts about escaped characters: "Okay, if I want it to show up as & instead of &, then I have to write it as &...."

"Multidelete should be on by default, it's really useful - or at least have a big shiny button right there on the memories page to get to it. I don't understand why it's hidden so."
I so agree with you. I've never understood why they wouldn't put a button to do that if it was available!
