One of the best kept secrets about the LiveJournal community is how incredibly generous you all are. It's not just the fact that so many of you volunteer to help LJ out, or are such active participants in communities online. Some people above have said it's more of a business item, and I agree. It's not as glaringly misplaced as some of their other biz and news topics have been.

You have a point, but the way I saw it, it's about 6A's money, right? Money is a business thing, normally. But then, yeah, a charity could merit a mention on news as well.

True again. I guess the line can blur a little, on some posts, when deciding where they go. I personally don't understand why they have to have so many stinking comms for announcements anyway. They don't even use half of them.

I'm pretty sure it was said somewhere that their marketing team is who posts to news, which is why it's all advertisements important and relevant news updates.
