Yes - glad you asked. Any non-U.S. person may request and use a DonorsChoose.org gift certificate. Thanks for getting involved!

When you say "non-US person", which categories below are you referring to?

1- US citizen living outside the US
2- non-US citizen living in the US
3- non-US citizen living outside the US

Quoting from the DonorsChoose.org website, while redeeming a GC (step 3 - payment):What if I live outside the United Stated?
[...] DonorsChoose.org cannot accept donations from non-US citizens.

Does that also apply to gift certificates issued to people in category 2 or 3 above?

I think the donation is from a US company even if you send it.

I tried and got confirmation that it had been accepted. Interestingly, other family members have not had a reply to their emails so it may be one gift certificate per IP address.

Yeah, I'm kind of confused about this as well. As pauamma quoted, according to their website, "DonorsChoose.org cannot accept donations from non-U.S. citizens." How can I use my gift certificate? Lie about my address? Give it to some US friend of mine to use?

And I was feeling so good about this project... :(
