May 29, 2014 11:36

Hello!

As noted in our news post a few days ago about the redesign, we want to get better about asking for your feedback on new feature ideas or upcoming changes prior to rolling them out. We'll be reviving this lj_feedback community as part of that endeavor, and this 'new feature idea' post will get things started. (We're still monitoring the redesign post ( Read more... )

If ever I wanted to "like" a comment, this is the one.

Right there with you!

Hello there you! *waves* Small world!

I posted my response downthread, I like the kudos option on Archive of Our Own and wouldn't mind something similar here sometimes, if it's an optional feature. IF. And I do NOT want comments ranked by popularity; oh gosh no.

I second this. I'd hate for comments to become muddled up as to their order lke posts on Facebook. Bleh. Otherwise it sounds acceptable to me as long as people have a choice to opt in or out.

Are trying to be intentionally ironic or is the fact that you're kinda admitting you'd use the +1 feature you're criticizing, a total accident?

Seriously? I would have thought the nature of the comment I responded to and the quotey fingers around "like" would have been a dead giveaway.

Edited to add: Sorry, being clear this time - yes, I was trying to be intentionally ironic. Or, as it is otherwise known, sarcastic.

What they said. This is just another way to turn LJ into a meaningless way to voice your opinion instead of fostering discussion with words. I thought the latter was what a blogging service was all about. If we wanted to be on Facebook or Tumblr we would be and many people here are, but those are separate and very different services. Making LJ more like them, takes away from what makes LJ special and different.
