"stop hiding behind the pillars," jongdae nudged his extremely lanky friend who's trying to look as inconspicuous as possible.

"why don't you just try talking to him?"  he asks in exasperation when they are attracting attention from other students for acting weirdly.

chanyeol lets out a pitiful whimper, imaginary ears drooping dramatically. "he's kim jongin, I'll never be able to talk to him."

"kim jongin!" jongdae calls out before he is able to walk into his faculty building. "my friend here has something to say to you." chanyeol stumbles over his own feet, and hurriedly straightens himself in front the man of his dreams after jongdae pushes him viciously.

perspiration pools on his palms, and he loses his ability to speak as jongin stares at him curiously. "so what is it?" the beautifully tanned boy asks when the silence is getting oppressive.

"i..i," chanyeol curses inwardly as he stumbles over his word. despite that, jongin still smiles patiently, further cementing chanyeol's belief that he is the most perfect man that has ever existed.

"i really like you. do you want to go on a date next week?" the rest of the words come out as a rush, but the stricken expression on jongin's face shows that he has heard everything, and that chanyeol is about to get rejected.

a voice interrupts before jongin has the chance to reply. "that's cute, but i'm afraid he's mine." a hand snakes itself on jongin's waist, and chanyeol sees the person addressing him is someone who's ridiculously pale.

"this is all your fault," chanyeol whines as he thrashes on jongdae'a bed later in the afternoon. "and why didn't you tell me that his boyfriend is behind him, or that he has a boyfriend."

"aren't you the jongin expert who's supposed to know everything about him?" jongdae retorts, continuing the furious typing on his laptop. "and whose fault is it for only having eyes for his oh so perfect crush?"

chanyeol lets out another groan before burying his face deeper into the pillow. now, he's going to be the brunt of the joke for the next month.

jongin's breath is labored as he reloads his gun. his group has gotten into a brawl that has turned out to be a gun fight between the two gangs.

out of the corner of his eyes, he sees baekhyun limping while moving to hide between a steel barrel.

what happens next is too fast for his mind to comprehend.

"hello there," a deep voice sounds beside him and jongin feels the the revolver pressing against his temples.

fuck. jongin curses under his breath. how did he forget that park chanyeol is still around?

the stage lights feels way too bright as jongin stands alone in the middle of the stage. the space that was once shared between the twelve of them now belongs to him, alone.

he makes out the shadows of kyungsoo and junmyeon sitting on the first row, waving exo's official gray balloon in support of his solo debut.

"3, 2, 1," the director shouts, and the music starts playing promptly at the cue alongside with the cheers from fans who have been waiting for way too long.

he can barely hear himself over the loud cheers, adrenaline coursing through his entire being as he loses himself to the music, executing every move perfectly even when his mind is blank. the performance ends before he gets to fully enjoy it, and he staggers slightly, hunching his back out of habit as he catches his breath.

"good job," junmyeon tells him when they are settled in their van. "it was so much better than kyungsoo's solo last year." he chooses to ignore the angry glare from the younger boy, focusing on wiping the perspiration of jongin.

"where is sehun? did he come back?" jongin asks after a beat.

the atmosphere in the car shifts, leaving no traces of the initial celebratory mood. "i don't know, no one knows." junmyeon answers him quietly. their maknae has decided to quit sometime last year, vanishing without any goodbye.

"is it?" jongin asks, even though it sounds more like a question to himself rather than his two other team mates.

"i want to be in a sub-unit with tao and jongin in the future" jongin remembers the youngest saying it years ago on a radio show when he is laying on his bed that night.

a self-depreciating smile creeps up his face as he tosses on the bed to get rid of that thought. "aren't they all lies," he whispers to no one.

yifan will like to think that he is not someone possessive. he allows his boyfriend to hang out with his high school classmates on weekends even though that is their common free time, he encourages junmyeon to join all the company gatherings despite it meaning that they might not get to see each other for that week, he even lets junmyeon go for coffee dates with his love rival.

that is why it comes as a surprise when his boyfriend accuses him of being too clingy. "give me some room to breathe?" junmyeon asks tiredly when they meet on a sunday, "i'm old enough to do do things unsupervised."

yifan raises his eyebrows in confusion, "but i never try to stop you from doing any of it?"

junmyeon presses his palms on his face in frustration. "yes, but you call every hour to check on me when i'm out with my friends. i'm really tired of it."

"i'm sorry." yifan apologizes out of instinct without really understanding the situation. he calls simply because he is worried about his younger boyfriend, and want to make sure that he is fine and having fun.

"don't apologize when you don't know what i'm complaining about," junmyeon sighs, fatigue laced in his voice. "i think i'm going home first. i love you, baby." he adds as an afterthought seeing the hurt expression on yifan's face. "i just need some time to myself."

"i'm sorry." yifan apologizes again, holding onto junmyeon's hands preventing him from leaving. "i'm still trying to figure out what is wrong, but i shouldn't have made you sad." the sincerity behind yifan's words is palpable, eliciting a small smile from junmyeon.

"it's okay. i think you'll understand it soon." he squeezes yifan's hands before leaving the store with a promise of calling him that night.

愛上未來的你 - luhan
luhan/sehun - pg

sehun smiles as he tucks the slip of paper into his pocket.

this secret correspondence from a certain luhan has been on-going for the past three months. he has never seen the other boy, only finding little slips of notes lying in his locker every morning.

luhan claims that he is from 2018, 4 years away from now. he speaks of manchester united winning UEFA in 2016, which jongin claims is rubbish since there is no chance that liverpool will lose. he tells sehun stories about how the school looks like in the future, and the students who seems to get more and more notorious each year.

it is difficult to believe him at first, but when luhan provides accurate information on the mini typhoon that happens in early 2014 and predicts the results of the next presidential election accurately, sehun have no more reason to doubt him.

sehun has never seen the other boy, but he imagines that he will have almond shaped eyes that twinkle in mischief whenever he tries to play a prank, a small pink mouth that stretches widely whenever he is happy, and brown hair that frames his face perfectly.

"stop smiling to yourself," jongin nudges him in irritation as they settles into their seat.

their first lesson of the day is history which sehun hates the most, but he can't fight the smile off his face. not when luhan promises to send him his photo later this afternoon.

A/N: a failed attempt of easing myself back into writing since inspiration seems to avoid me nowadays. sorta itunes fic, just that i used three songs to finish a drabble instead, and i simply skip to a song that i want to listen to. & i listen to english songs, i really do.
