Hello Folks!

Nov 09, 2006 11:32

Its that time, time for an update! Grab a snack, get comfy in that office chair and prepare to be amazed....oh wait thats the circus.

Last Friday was my friend Diane's funeral, as you can imagine it was awesome...just seeing if your paying attention, it sucked of course what funeral doesn't. Her Mom was trying to make everyone laugh and was actually trying to make everyone else feel good. Thats Mom. I didn't go up to the casket until almost the end, just too hard. Then when I did I cried like a baby, it just didn't look like her at all. They cut all her hair off, now if anything was to ever make someone rise up out of the coffin and strangle someone, that would of been it. And as far as I know that didn't happen.
That night it was hard to shut my eyes and not see..that person in the coffin who they tried to make me believe was my friend. So with a little help from my good friend NyQuil, I slept.
Yesterday I got a message that her ashes are ready for me to pick up, hmmmm, yeah I will have to go do that.

Saturday it was time to head to the airport to go to New Orleans. I had the biggest suitcase ever! Thank god the scales were broke hehe. We got there so early, just incase. We went to this place called Max n Ermas to grab some lunch and to get our drink on, and we got nice and buzzed (and the food is great). Only to find out that our plane was delayed! I think we waited over an hour later then we were supposed to be gone, to board. We then had to wait forever in line to take off due to the wind. They were down to one runway, lost our buzz, just in time for us to take off and for drinks to start flowing. New buzz!
Finally got to the airport in New Orleans, only to have to wait FOREVER for the airport shuttle to show up, bye bye buzz. What do you do when your stuck at the airport you ask, WHEELCHAIR RACING, everyone knows that!

Well look who shows up, its the airport/hotel shuttle just in time, some lady walked by and I don't know if she put a voodoo curse on them but said, its bad luck to be in a wheelchair if you don't need it....whew I am glad that wasn't me. We hop in the shuttle and are all ready to take off, hit the hotel and get to Bourbon, when the driver, lets call him Mr. Fuckface decides he is going to wait right there until every seat in that van is filled, or we freeze to death since he left the air on, whichever comes first. So we wait & wait & finally....we are off. It seems like we went by every hotel in the city to drop off people before we finally arrived at ours.
We happily walk in and head to the front desk, as we walk up the guy starts hitting & kicking the wall behind him. WTF ??, I told him the name and he says that he just tried to call me, now why the fuck would you call me when I am supposed to be HERE and not at home! He says the website fucked up and over booked the hotel that there was a convention in town and that all the hotels were sold out. He was trying to send us to another hotel, or stay in a room with one bed and a cot. HELL NO, we said no way we booked here months and months ago (only because everywhere else was booked or closed or WAAAY too high). He then says, oh your fellow Detroiters I can get you a room. I was begining to think this whole trip was a bad idea, part of me said turn around and go home!
So we get booked in and head to our closet, oh I mean room. Now how are 4 people supposed to sleep in a room the size of my bathroom? If I turned in a circle I would cause friction and set the place on fire, thats how small it was. We complained, so our "fellow Detroiter" said in the morning since the convention is over and everyone was checking out he could switch us to another room. So we tried to settle in, opening my suitcase without someone having to leave the room was a task.
Finally we got out of there and hit Bourbon! Got our Hurricanes, the street was packed with people and they were all dressed up. I think thats when everyone celebrated Halloween (but the costumes didn't come anywhere close to the first year we went). We ended up people watching, we were so exhausted from being drunk and sober, drunk and sober that I just couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't get a buzz, my head was throbbing so we called it a night.
The next day, which was Sunday we went right down to the font desk and got a bigger room! Then we headed out to the casino. Gotta love FREE DRINKS! We stayed, we gambled, we drank then we headed out and ended up at Mortons Steak house. We were so out of place, it was all fancy and respectful, we were all drunk and loud lol. We order our steak, which comes with absolutely nothing else, no sides no nothing. We ordered sides, shrimp and drinks, try and guess what our bill came to.......... WAY TOO MUCH, but damn that was the best steak I ever had ever, for the price of a small car lol. The kind that you don't need to put anything on it, except Kevin he had his swimming in A1.
Heres Kevin eating and posing with his steak........

After our fantastic expensive meal we took our drunk selves back to Bourbon, there was no one there, it was nothing like the night before. The streets were pretty empty and it was pretty sad. We drank and stumbled around with the other few drunks. People threw some beads at us, just because we were the only ones there. We called it a night. Monday we woke up, got ready and got a bus and headed to the cemetary. WHERE THEY PUT THE BODIES IN THE TOMB, right Kevin....hehe
We walked around for a while, there were some really old tombs there. Some had like 20 people in one (musta been a family of Mexicans LOL!) The tombs are so old, some are broke and some have holes. Heres some photos.......

If your somebody, then you get a house like structure for your tomb...heres the Italian and Greek somebodys...

After the cool cemetary trip we waited for the bus, ended up getting a cab which was better because we got to drive around and see the houses with the spray paint markings from the rescue teams of Katrina. It was horrible to see that was still there, as if time stood still.
Later on we got in our Rocky Horror costumes and headed out, not sure if we went to drink at the casino but more then likely, we did. Then Dave & Nancy set us up on this tour with Lord Chaz, he walks you through a tour and tells you stories of old buidlings and houses, the tour was so cool and I am so glad we went on it. The guy was great, funny yet you were so drawn in by the way he talks and tells a story. He took us to 3 places then we got to make a pit stop at an old bar, it had no lights just all candle light. We got to sit and grab a drink. Then he showed us 3 other places, very very cool and good time. At the end of the tour he dug his long black sharp finger nails, and I know they were sharp because when he was telling the story of the church he pulled me up on the steps and told everyone where all the major arteries in your body are while using me as an example and they were sharp, he dug them in to his own arm and drew blood then covered it with a bandana and when he took it off it was gone.... well of course we got some photos....

After the tour we headed to the Hard Rock to eat with Dave, Nancy, Heidi, Heather and all of us. Then it was off to the Casino for more drinks. The next day was Halloween, one of my favorite favorite days! We went to find some lunch, this business guy on the street told us about this little family owned diner called Mothers, so we went to Mothers. Apparently the President was there not long before that. They had all these photos of famous people up who signed them. They were supposed to have the best Ham sandwich around, well I guess we will never know since they were OUT OF HAM. So we got the roast beef with debris, the Ferdi special. Yes, debris thats all the good stuff at the bottom of the pan, it was one damn good sandwich, messy as hell but good. I had to get some red beans and rice to go with it. After that it was more casino, hey when they give out free drinks and Nick is giving out free $20's why not haha. Then after we got drunk we went back to the hotel and got dressed up, The Village People this time, we went to Daves room and met up with Bob & Shawn and headed out to Bourbon Street. If ever there was a time to feel famous that was it, all four of us and my brother Nick as the biker got stopped for so many pictures. One person would want one and then there were like 20 people surrounding us. It was like we were famous, then I looked and said...oh we're the village people LOL! No one cares about us haha
...fotos.......

Bareback mounting anyone, oh sailor!

Kevin also made a friend, its a puppet buts its still his buddy

Kevin got up to sing Karaoke so me & my brother were his backup dancers LOL! that was too funny

Then his buddy Harvey joined in for a duet LOL!!

No need to explain these next ones

It didn't matter to Kevin that we were in a city with tons of great food, he didn't want no gumbo or shrimp. He didn't want no beans and rice, all he wanted was Taco Bell but since he couldn't get that he got the next best thing. Just look at the smile

This is a church with a statue out front and when the light hits it just right, when you walking down the street and you look over, this is what you see.

And if you turn you head the other way, this is what you might see

GOOD TIMES!
