I know it's supposed to be old news by now, but I've probably watched the Obama acceptance speech five times since I first had the opportunity to watch it on live tv. And it never fails to make me cry.
I'm not 106, I'm only 33. But I have seen some things in my life. The invention of the DVD (and the emergence of the VCR, for that matter), the day when microwaves became commonplace in our homes, the birth of the internet as we know it.
And I've been fortunate enough not to have lived through many historic moments in my life, fortunate because most of them have been bad.
But I will remember until the day I die where I was when the Challenger exploded. I will remember every single detail about where I was on 9/11.
And I'm grateful that I will also remember until the day I die where, exactly, I was standing when Obama was elected.
The acceptance speech, just to keep in your back pocket whenever you need a pick me up.
