Piercing the Heavens...with my scissors!

On the cosplay progress front:

• The pieces for Kamina's cape, Kamina's pants, and Simon's pants have all been cut.
• Simon's belt is done.
• Kamina's belt has been acquired, but I'm still looking for a good bulk sized quantity of 1/4" silver eyelets to punch it full of. Will probably order some tonight because every fabric store in the area is out of them, or doesn't have enough.
• Kamina's wig still needs to be trimmed and finished styling. I got the extensions in the mail today and they're a shade or two lighter than my wig. Since they're going underneath the hair it will probably just look like highlights, so meh.
• Material for Simon's jacket has been acquired.
• Materials for Simon's hand drill also acquired sans the polystyrene that hopefully I can borrow from Ryan. :D
• Campus Lagann sweaters and ties acquired (thank god for thrift stores!)

So as of right now, besides the obvious pinning and stitching together of all aforementioned things I still need:

• Simon's boots
• to assemble the hand drill and paint it.


• Spray paint the base of the core drill so that it looks silver and not like gray plastic.


• Attempt to make Gurren patches for Simon's coat and Kamina's cape so I don't have to go through the trouble of painting them by hand and then needing to purchase lining to cover up the inevitable bleeding through to the other side of the fabric.


• Style Kamina's goddamned goofy hair. Yes Kamina you're awesome, but your hair is fucking annoying to replicate! D: There I said it!
• Get some cheapo dollar store reading glasses and attach the frames to Kamina's "lenses" with whatever glue that is that's used to keep your rearview mirror attached to your windshield, so that they can actually be worn on one's face like normal fucking glasses.
