but at least this year i'm actually doing it, so there's that.

just, this thing i'm writing is not fluffy and christmassy and appropriate for fandom stocking filling.

with the way S4 ended, i cannot with the fluff. and also with being me. probably mostly the me bit

Not sure where you're doing your Secret Santa but I did one on tumblr. I thought the idea was really cute at first and then it took a turn. But the idea totally fit so I went with it.

It was definitely not Holly or Jolly.

i'm trying to make mine less angsty but it's super hard. i just really feel like secret santa stuff should be more "le wild mistletoe appears" less "her eyes are still puffy from all the crying she did when sam dumped her a$$." at least when it's not a request type thing and people ASK for angst. which i would totally do, so...

I get it. And you're probably right - the expectation is the slow motion running towards each other in the sand, grand gestures of love kind of thing. But a good story is a good story. And if it ends in hope - right now that's all we've got so...

Pretty sure whoever your recipient is, they will be ecstatic because the story will be that good.

idk, i'd LIKE to write that and be all 'season to be jolly' but i couldn't so in the end i just had to begin and see what happened. but i'm insisting on a happy ending of some sort because it IS christmas, and it IS a gift, so this thing is going to be way longer than i had planned. ha ha ha ha.

Ummm, I will totally read angst anytime you want to write it. Just sayin'. And, frankly, even though secret santa does seem synonymous with fluff, I think anyone would be happy to receive the gift of reading an incredibly well-written story that gives them feels. And, lady, you fit that bill to a (capital) T...(that rhymes with P that stands for Pool).
