Crockpot Arabic Yumminess

Because coquette_not asked:

Okay. This is a revision of a recipe from roxana . And because roxana and I both tend to cook by "feel" more than by recipe, it's a little vague. It's also very forgiving. (I'm going to post it on our food list, too.)

In the crockpt, put the following:
Chicken breasts (I usually use 2-3 for a full pot)
Chicken broth (I usually use one big cardboard box thingy of it)
3-4 Chicken bullion cubes (not technically necessary, but intensifies the flavor nicely)
sometimes I add another cup ir so of water
1 large onion, chopped.
garlic (I buy the pre-chopped in a jar and use a tablespoon or so)--the garlic is my addition to the recipe and I like it, though it's not strictly necessary.
salt and pepper--a lot of these. You could start with a little and add to it, but I've gotten to the point where I just pour in at least a couple of tablespoons of pepper. If you've added the bullion cubes, you don't need to add as much salt.
turmeric--enough to turn it a dark yellow (again, roughly a tablespoon?)

Cook for however long you cook stuff in your crockpot (I've used both the fast and slow settings and haven't seen any difference).

Right before you eat, take a large carton of plain yogurt and mix it into the pot. It mixes more smoothly if you run it through a blender first to liquefy it qa bit.

Since I've been on the low-carb train, I eat it as a soup. But it's also good over rice. And if you add turmeric and toasted almond slivers to the rice, it's even better.
